Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Polls Open: 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
If you are in line when the polls close at 8:00 p.m., you are permitted to vote.
Important Voter Registration Deadlines
October 5, 2026
Deadline to register to vote in person, by mail, or through a Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles location.
October 13, 2026
Deadline to register to vote online through Louisiana’s GeauxVote Online Registration System.
Already registered? This is also a good time to make sure your name, residential address, mailing address, and other voter information are correct.
Early Voting
You do not need a special reason to vote early in Louisiana.

There is no early voting Sunday, October 25.

Your Election Day polling place is determined by your registered residential address.

- Confirm that you are registered to vote
- Find your polling place
- Check your precinct
- Review your voting districts
- View your sample ballot when it becomes available
Register to Vote or Update Your Information
Have you moved? Changed your name? Need to verify your registration?
Louisiana allows eligible voters to register or make certain changes to their voter registration online.
If you moved within St. Charles Parish, update your residential address so you receive the correct ballot.
If you moved from another parish into St. Charles Parish, you should register in St. Charles Parish.
Your residential address is important because it determines the elections, districts, and candidates that appear on your ballot.
Absentee Voting by Mail
Louisiana requires most voters to meet one of the state’s qualifying reasons to vote absentee by mail.
November 3 Election Deadlines
Friday, October 30 at 4:30 p.m.
Deadline for most eligible voters to request an absentee ballot.
Monday, November 2 at 4:30 p.m.
Deadline for the Registrar of Voters to receive most completed absentee ballots.
Different deadlines and procedures may apply to military, overseas, and certain hospitalized voters.
If you believe you qualify to vote absentee, apply as early as possible to allow enough time for your ballot to be issued, completed, and returned.
What Identification Should I Bring?
Louisiana voters are generally asked to present photo identification when voting.
Accepted identification can include a Louisiana driver’s license, Louisiana special identification card, U.S. military identification containing your name and photograph, or another generally recognized picture ID containing your name and signature.
A voter who does not have the required photo identification may be able to complete a voter identification affidavit.

Reviewing your ballot before voting is a great way to know which races, propositions, and constitutional amendments you will be asked to consider.
